Painting Restorer
Every painting presents with its own unique set of challenges based on a variety different variables including age, medium, substrate, artist and condition. When choosing a fine art restorer it's important to know if they've had the opportunity to work on examples similar to yours to ensure the recommendations being made come with the backing of professsional experience. Our studio has been in business for over three decades so we come with many years of hands on fine art restorations.
Heritage Restoration
In Restauro has also worked on buildings with examples of stucco or painting deemed to have historical value. The same painstaking process of evaluating the wall or ceilings present condition is made to determine the best course of treatment. From corridors to music halls, we've had the opportunity to protect cultural heritage for generations to come.
Sculpture Repair
We don't work with all types of sculpture but specialize in those examples where paint has been used, mostly in religious statues made of wood (or polychrome). Here we apply our education and expertise in similar ways as restoring paintings to consolidate, preserve, re-touch and ensure the longevity of every piece we conserve. Wooden statues have typically been covered in multiple layers of overpaint so the treatment process must be done in close consultation with the client.
